Who we are

Thrifted (thrifted.ng) is an online marketplace for buying and selling pre-loved clothing and shoes in Nigeria. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and how we protect it.

What we collect

• Account details — your email address, username, and optional profile information (name, location, phone number, photo). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.
• Listings and messages — items you list, photos you upload, and messages you exchange with other users.
• Order details — delivery addresses and phone numbers you provide at checkout, and records of your purchases and sales.
• Payout details— sellers' bank account details, used solely to pay out sale proceeds.

Payments

Payments are processed by Flutterwave. We never see or store your card number, PIN, or OTP — those go directly to Flutterwave's secure systems. We keep records of transaction amounts and status to operate escrow, payouts, and refunds.

How we use your information

• To operate the marketplace: listings, chat, orders, delivery, and payouts.
• To protect buyers and sellers: escrow, dispute resolution, and fraud prevention.
• To send service emails such as sign-in confirmations and order updates.
• To improve the product. We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

Sharing

We share information only as needed to run the service: your delivery details go to the seller shipping your order; payout details go to our payment provider; and we may disclose information where Nigerian law requires it.

Storage and security

Your data is stored with our infrastructure providers (Supabase and Vercel) using encryption in transit and at rest. Access to production data is restricted to authorised personnel.

Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act, you may request a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and associated data (subject to records we must keep for completed transactions). Contact us at box@thrifted.ng.
